Curaçao is a nation in the Southern Caribbean, just off the coast of Venezuela. The country is comprised of the main island (Curaçao) as well as the smaller, uninhabited island of Klein Curaçao. The country was created after the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved on October 10th, 2010. However, the Netherlands Antilles football team continued to play under the banner of the Netherlands Antilles until 2011. Though the Netherlands Antilles was comprised of all of the islands of Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Eustatius, Saba and Sint Maarten (and Aruba until 1986), Curaçao is recognised as the direct successor to the Netherlands Antilles football team and inherited its results.
